Experience the celebrative drumming and dance of certain African societies, presented by Brand New Me with the Worship Without Words dancers, directed by Mrs. Heather Taylor-Liva.
Dance and drumming are vehicles to connect young people and adults with their roots, to encourage pride and appreciation about the accomplishments of many people and to excite participants to use dance and drumming as a guide to cultural understanding and a release for anger control.
Brand New Me is an organization developed and implemented in 1978 by Lee Taylor to provide such positive activities and build personal self-esteem and self-awareness for community youths.

The Michigan Mosaic Music Festival is a public celebration of diversity and unity on Labor Day weekend in Michigan’s capital city.
The event is staged over Labor Day weekend in cooperation with Michigan Institute for Contemporary Art, the labor community, and the City of Lansing. Activities include multicultural dance, music, activities, cuisine and live bands.
This year’s festival will take place Friday, August 31 through Sunday, September 2, 2012.
