Labor Exhibits
In honor of Labor Day weekend, Mosaic’s local union partners will present displays and activities detailing their contributions to Lansing past, present, and future. Come experience this showcase of the workers of the greater Lansing area who work to build our city and region. Find our union tent on site!
Mayor’s Labor Walk
Mayor Virg Bernero hosts this labor solidarity walk on Saturday at 2 pm. To join the walk, arrive before 2:00 on the west side of the pedestrian bridge in Adado Riverfront Park. After crossing the bridge to the River Trail, the walk will continue south past the City Market, to Impression 5 Museum, and return.
Lansing Educators 0K 5K Run Back to School
Join Lansing educators on Saturday, 9-10 am for the Run Back to School. The course for the scenic 3.1 mile Run/Walk starts from the east bank of Riverfront Park, near the pedestrian bridge, and loops twice on the River Trail. Awards will be given to top race finishers in a variety of age groups. Walkers can choose their pace and shorten the distance as they wish. On-site registration will be at 7:30-8:45 am. This event is sponsored by LSEA (Lansing Schools Education Association) and LEA (Lansing Educational Assistants), with proceeds going to benefit the children and students of Lansing.
Food and Drink
Mosaic features a beverage tent. This is a prime location to enjoy music and cultural performances. The beverage tent is also the only festival vendor licensed to sell alcohol. Because of this, all entrants must show ID proving they are at least 21 years of age. Admission to the beverage tent is $5/day.
A variety of ethnic food vendors are also available – taste the diversity of Lansing. In the food court (north of the beverage tent), you’ll find:
Amist Concessions: Look for the booth shaped like a lemon! Fresh-squeezed lemonade, orangeade, and limeade. iced tea. Fresh-made popcorn.
Clint’s Hotdog Cart: A downtown Lansing favorite! Clint’s offers over a dozen “dog” and sausage choices, enhanced by great toppings. Nachos, chips, water, and pop.
Cottage Inn Pizza: Gourmet pizza, Michigan-made since 1948! Pepperoni, cheese, southwest chicken or deluxe, whole or by the slice. Pop and water.
Famous Taco: The taste of Mexico right here in Lansing! Tacos, burritos, taco salad, rice, beans, chips & salsa, soda and water.
Melting Moments: Offering Lansing the ultimate ice cream experience! Hand-dipped ice cream, soft-serve frozen yogurt, cones, shakes, splits, sundaes, floats, drinks. Ice cream novelties (cookie sandwich, Frozen Moment Bar, Lem-O-Licious Sorbet, chocolate-covered banana), cookies, slushies.
Soul Food Kitchen: At festivals only, so don’t miss it! Barbeque rib tips and chicken wings; fried catfish and tilapia, spaghetti salad, macaroni & cheese, fries, baked beans, mixed greens, cornbread, peach cobbler, pound cake. Pop, juice, water.
